Location Ramallah, with travel and participation in activities across different targeted areas as needed, and readiness to travel internationally when required.
Type of Contract Part-time position (50% of full-time working hours).
Duration 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension and potential transition to a full-time position, subject to satisfactory performance, organizational needs, and funding availability.
Background
Stars of Hope Society (SHS) is a Palestinian organization working to empower women and girls with disabilities and promote their rights, inclusion, and participation at community, institutional, and policy levels.
As part of its institutional development and strategic communication efforts, SHS seeks to recruit a Public Relations Officer to support institutional visibility, strategic communications, advocacy outreach, donor engagement, fundraising communication, public relations, and public engagement initiatives across programs and strategic activities, including conferences, campaigns, knowledge products, fundraising efforts, and stakeholder engagement.
The position will contribute to strengthening SHS public presence, communication approaches, and external engagement with partners, donors, networks, media actors, and community stakeholders.
Main Purpose of the Position
The Public Relations Officer will support SHS in strengthening institutional visibility, external engagement, strategic communications, public relations, advocacy outreach, and donor-oriented communication efforts, while contributing to inclusive public engagement, knowledge dissemination, and communication capacity strengthening within SHS and its community structures.
The position will also contribute to the review, refinement, and implementation of SHS communication, visibility, and public engagement approaches in line with organizational priorities, strategic developments, and institutional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communication & Institutional Visibility
Support strengthening SHS institutional visibility and public positioning at national, regional, and international levels.
Support the review, update, and implementation of SHS communication, visibility, and public engagement plans and strategies in line with organizational priorities, strategic developments, and emerging opportunities.
Develop and support implementation of communication and visibility plans related to SHS programs, campaigns, public events, and strategic initiatives.
Contribute to the development of professional communication and promotional materials highlighting SHS impact, achievements, and inclusive practices.
Ensure that SHS visual identity, institutional image, and visibility materials are aligned with organizational strategies and commitments toward donors, partners, and stakeholders.
Media, Outreach & Public Engagement
Work closely with the SHS Communications Coordinator to support media outreach, press releases, digital communication, and social media visibility related to SHS activities and initiatives.
Support communication and outreach efforts related to conferences, dialogue spaces, workshops, campaigns, and advocacy events.
Support documentation, media engagement, visibility materials, and communication products before, during, and after events, in coordination with relevant SHS staff and partners.
Support dissemination of recommendations, knowledge products, work-papers, advocacy outputs, and selected institutional communication materials.
Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, digital platforms, and communication partners to enhance SHS visibility, outreach, and public engagement.
Conference & Events Coordination
Support planning, coordination, visibility, documentation, and media engagement related to conferences, public events, dialogue platforms, campaigns, and strategic forums organized or co-organized by SHS.
Coordinate event communication materials, media coverage, participant engagement, and post-event dissemination activities.
Support accessibility and inclusive communication considerations within conferences and public events.
Support the dissemination and follow-up of key recommendations, outcomes, and knowledge products generated through conferences and public engagement events.
Fundraising & External Relations Support
Support communication and outreach efforts with donors, partners, networks, and strategic stakeholders.
Contribute to the preparation of communication materials linked to fundraising initiatives, donor outreach, presentations, institutional campaigns, and resource mobilization efforts.
Support development of success stories, briefs, presentations, and visibility materials that strengthen SHS fundraising and partnership efforts.
Coordinate with program teams, the Fundraising Lead, and management to ensure alignment of messaging, visibility, and institutional positioning.
Support communication and relationship-building efforts with current and potential donors, partners, and supporters.
Documentation & Knowledge Products
Support documentation of lessons learned, advocacy processes, community engagement activities, and project achievements, in coordination with relevant SHS teams and staff.
Contribute to the visibility and dissemination of analytical outputs, policy recommendations, reports, and selected research materials, working in close coordination with SHS researchers, MEL staff, and program teams as needed.
Support development of accessible communication materials, inclusive storytelling approaches, and human-centered visibility content that reflects SHS values and programming approaches.
Capacity Building & Internal Communication Support
Support strengthening communication and presentation skills of SHS staff, focal points, ambassadors, and selected community representatives.
Contribute to coaching and mentoring on public communication, storytelling, visibility, and engagement with external audiences and media.
Promote inclusive and accessible communication practices across SHS activities and public engagement efforts.
Support internal communication initiatives that strengthen staff engagement and institutional communication practices.
متطلبات الوظيفة:Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Media, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, advocacy communication, media engagement, institutional visibility, stakeholder engagement, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience working with civil society organizations, NGOs, development, humanitarian, human rights, disability inclusion, or public sector institutions.
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills in Arabic and English.
Experience in digital communication, social media management, content development, and media engagement.
Understanding of donor visibility requirements and communication standards is an asset.
Strong interpersonal, networking, and coordination skills.
Commitment to inclusion, diversity, gender equality, and rights-based approaches.
Preferred Skills
Experience in conference, event, and public engagement visibility and communication.
Ability to develop human-centered stories and advocacy-oriented communication materials.
Familiarity with accessible communication approaches and disability-inclusive visibility practices.
Photography, video documentation, graphic design, or multimedia production skills are considered an asset.
Experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and donor-oriented communication.
