(one year contract with possible extension)
The Representative Office of Switzerland in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (SRO) is
recruiting a fulltime National Security Supervisor, based in Ramallah.
The Security Supervisor covers three main security aspects: security logistics, security
monitoring and crisis preparedness. The Security Supervisor ensures adequate security
arrangements protecting staff and assets of the SRO at all times. Under the oversight of the
Security Management Team, the Security Supervisor monitors and maintains risk
management products and establishes reliable internal processes to this end. This includes
identifying gaps and possible improvements in the security setup and its logistical
implementation.
Key responsibilities
• Serve as focal point for all safety and security matters for staff and families
• Liaise with authorities, security forces and emergency services
• Support security management and crisis management processes, and maintain security
frameworks (SOPs, risk matrix, contingency plans)
• Plan and oversee security for travel, field missions, events, and delegations
• Conduct risk assessments and provide security advice
• Monitor and analyse the security situation and brief staff and management
• Ensure security of premises, residences and equipment
• Monitor compliance with security policies and service providers
• Deliver security trainings and preparedness exercises
• Manage and monitor the dispatch of drivers and vehicles

• Demonstrated ability to assess and manage security risks, and to translate analysis into
practical mitigation measures
• Strong coordination and liaison skills with authorities, security actors, and service
providers
• Proven capacity to operate in high-risk environments with sound judgement, and calm
decision-making
• Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring security procedures and
compliance systems
• Ability to plan and deliver security briefings, trainings, and preparedness exercises
• High level of ownership, reliability, and ability to work independently in a demanding
environment
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, and ability to build trust across diverse
stakeholders
• Integrity, discretion, and consistently professional conduct in a diplomatic context
What we look for
• Several years of relevant experience in security risk management, safety, or logistics,
preferably in an international or humanitarian setting
• Practical experience in risk assessments, contingency planning, incident reporting, and
follow-up
• Experience in security coordination, including liaison with authorities, and emergency
services
• Familiarity with security compliance frameworks, SOPs, and operational procedures
• Good understanding of the local security context, and ability to adapt measures
accordingly
• Fluency in Arabic and English; Hebrew an asset
• Possibility to travel throughout the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and — subject to access
and security conditions — the Gaza Strip, would be considered an asset.
• Solid IT skills, including use of reporting, and communication tools
• Valid driving licence (C1 an advantage)
• Willingness to travel, and to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, when
required
