Job Summary

The Senior BIM Engineer is responsible for delivering high-fidelity BIM models across structural and architectural disciplines throughout the full project lifecycle — from design coordination under the consultant to construction delivery under the main contractor, through to as-built handover.

The current project requires BIM for Quantities (BOQ-grade modelling at LOD 350–400) and multi-discipline Coordination Models. The role demands deep technical expertise in model authoring, clash detection, quantity extraction, and BIM data management, along with the agility to operate effectively within both consultant and contractor environments as the project transitions between phases.

Core Responsibilities:
1- Model Authoring — Structural & Architectural

Develop and maintain LOD 200–500 structural models covering all RC and steel elements: foundations, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, cores, staircases, and ramps, including 3D rebar modelling at LOD 350–400.
Author comprehensive architectural models encompassing external and internal walls, floor and ceiling build-ups, roof, facade systems, doors, windows, curtain walls, stairs, finishes, and built-in joinery.
Build and manage parametric Revit families with full shared parameter sets; maintain model health through regular audits, purging, and workset discipline.
2- BIM for Quantities

Model all elements to a geometric and data completeness sufficient to extract accurate Bills of Quantities directly — no manual re-measurement required.
Produce and maintain parametric schedules for concrete volumes, rebar quantities, formwork, blockwork, finishes areas, and door/window schedules; deliver quantity reports in agreed formats (Excel/CSV/NRM/POMI) keyed to model element IDs.
Validate model-derived quantities against QS take-offs and resolve discrepancies; embed cost-relevant parameters to support 5D BIM workflows when required.
3- Coordination & Clash Detection

Federate all discipline models in Navisworks or Solibri; run systematic clash detection across structural, architectural, MEP, and civil models; maintain a live BCF issue tracker.
Chair or actively participate in weekly BIM coordination meetings; action clash resolutions within agreed windows and confirm clearance in the model.
Coordinate structural openings, beam depths, slab levels, and column offsets with architectural ceiling voids, facade interfaces, and accessibility requirements.
4- CDE & Information Management

Operate the project Common Data Environment (ACC/BIM 360 or equivalent) in strict compliance with ISO 19650 naming, status codes, and WIP → Shared → Published workflows.
Maintain Model Progress Reports (MPR), revision logs, and transmittal records; ensure all issued models are traceable to their corresponding design drawing version.
5- Full Lifecycle Delivery

Design Phase (Consultant): Set up model files per BEP; develop models from concept through construction-ready stages; produce tender BIM deliverables including federated model and quantity schedules.
Construction Phase (Contractor): Issue LOD 400 construction models to site, sub-contractors, and fabricators on a programme-linked schedule; process shop drawings; maintain rolling clash detection cycles; produce builder’s work and setting-out drawings from the model.
Handover Phase: Deliver LOD 500 as-built models incorporating site survey data; populate COBie/asset data; compile the Project Information Model (PIM) and Asset Information Model (AIM) per ISO 19650
متطلبات الوظيفة:
Education & Certifications

BSc/BEng in Architectural/Civil/Structural Engineering, BArch, or equivalent built environment degree.
Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit Structure or Revit Architecture — strongly preferred.
Post-graduate qualification in BIM Management is an advantage.
Experience

Minimum 8-12 years of hands-on BIM modelling experience, with at least 3 years at senior or lead modeller level.
Proven delivery of LOD 350–400 structural and architectural models on at least two large-scale projects used for BOQ extraction and sub-contractor coordination.
Experience on both consultant side and contractor side of BIM delivery is highly desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in multi-discipline federated model coordination (Structural, Architectural, MEP, Civil).
Software Proficiency

Autodesk Revit (Advanced) — parametric modelling, family creation, worksets, Dynamo scripting.
Autodesk Navisworks Manage — clash detection, 4D simulation, BCF issue export.
Autodesk ACC / BIM 360 — CDE management, coordination, RFI workflows.
Tekla Structures (preferred) — structural steel and precast detailing at LOD 400.
Solibri Model Checker, IFC viewers, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel for QA and quantity management.
Knowledge & Attributes

Deep understanding of ISO 19650, BIM Forum LOD Specification, and NRM/POMI quantity measurement standards.
Strong reading ability for structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and engineer’s calculations.
Meticulous attention to detail, proactive issue escalation, and ability to manage own workload against BEP milestones.
Effective communicator: able to produce clear clash reports, BIM notes, and model progress reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
