الوصف الوظيفي:Secours Islamique France (SIF) is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1991. SIF provides humanitarian aid in strict respect of cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender.
SIF has been operating in Palestine since 2008, implementing multi-sectoral programs to support vulnerable populations, including orphan sponsorship and protection interventions.
The Orphans Sponsorship Psycho-Social Worker contributes to the implementation of the Orphans Sponsorship Program (OSP) by ensuring psychosocial support, case follow-up, and community-based interventions targeting orphaned children and their caregivers.
CHILD SAFEGUARDING
Child Safeguarding Risk Level: 2
This position involves:
Direct and regular contact with children, including vulnerable orphaned children;
Access to sensitive personal data related to children and their families;
Conducting home visits and psychosocial support sessions, sometimes in non-supervised environments.
The employee must:
Strictly adhere to SIF Child Safeguarding Policy;
Ensure safe identification, referral, and follow-up of children at risk;
Immediately report any safeguarding concern following SIF procedures;
Ensure confidentiality and data protection standards are fully respected.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment and Identification
Conduct home visits for SIF registered orphaned children in various governorates in the West Bank;
Conduct psychosocial assessments for registered orphaned children;
Register new orphaned children upon need and assess their eligibility;
Periodically assess children’s situation, needs, education and health through home visits.
Counseling and Support
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to orphaned children and their family members;
Support individuals affected by violence or trauma using appropriate approaches;
Ensure a safe and confidential environment for expression and support.
Capacity Building
Conduct sessions for children, families, caregivers and local counterparts (PSS, PFA, child rights, coping mechanisms);
Collaborate with community volunteers to facilitate peer support groups.
Collaoration and Referral
Work closely with the OSP Project Officer and project team;
Ensure case management and referral follow-up for identified children;
Refer cases to specialized services under supervision and according to SIF procedures.
Community Engagement
Engage with communities and local counterparts on mental health, psychosocial well-being and child rights;
Organize community activities promoting social interaction and well-being.
Seasonal Distributions
Support seasonal distributions (food vouchers, Eid gifts, Adha meat, back-to-school, etc.);
Support preparation and validation of distribution lists and schedules;
Follow up sponsorship distributions to registered orphaned children.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and confidential records of sessions and interventions;
Prepare reports on PSS activities, home visits and trainings;
Provide Salesforce updates and follow up data entry;
Support MEAL activities related to the project.
Other
Any other task assigned by the OSP Project Officer or Program Manager.
The task list is neither exhaustive nor restrictive and is evolving according to the needs of the organization. The employee may be required to carry out other assignments related to his or her qualification. Being an association with limited resources, versatility and flexibility are necessary in order to overcome any difficulty temporary and exceptional.
The management may thus ask any employee to perform tasks outside this job description and corresponding to your qualification or to be available during campaign periods, outside the working hours and/or days of the employment contract, in compliance with the legislation in force.
متطلبات الوظيفة:KNOWLEDGE / STUDIES / DIPLOMAS
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Psychological Counselling;
Minimum two years of experience in similar projects, preferably with NGOs;
Experience in psychosocial support in humanitarian or conflict settings.
Languages
Arabic: Required (fluent written and spoken)
English: Good command of written and spoken English
Hard Skills
Very good ability to use MS Office applications;
Ability to use office equipment.
Soft Skills
Strong understanding of the cultural context;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Ability to work under pressure in complex and volatile operational environments.

Position based in: Ramallah – West Bank
Geographical area: West Bank, with possible field visits
Working time: Full-time, according to mission working hours
