THE ORGANIZATION

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Under the supervision of the Protection & AVR Project Manager, with the technical support of the Protection Specialist and MHPSS TO, and IHA TO and in close coordination with the MEAL department, the Social Worker ensures the comprehensive needs of beneficiaries are met within HI quality technical guidelines and frameworks. His/her responsibilities consists in assessing and developing a support plan of the beneficiaries’ individual and household level gaps and needs. The support includes case management and referrals to external essential service providers based on continuously updated service mapping and inter-agency referral pathway, conduct PFA (psychological First Aid) in case of a sudden shock and deliver cash assistance based on the beneficiaries’ protection risks and identified urgent needs.
Responsibilities/ Missions:
Responsibility 1: Field Support, Assessments, Documentation, and Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate closely with staff members, specifically Protection Officer, partners, and relevant stakeholders to implement project activities, including assessments, trainings, meetings, and workshops.
Document methods, good practices, experiences, and results from targeted communities, schools and partners.
Provide ongoing guidance, feedback, and capacity support to CBAs to strengthen their performance in line with project objectives.
Provide inputs on project information and documentation, including stories, photos, and articles, for internal communication purposes.
Support in the development of the community factsheets from field observation and testimonies.
Identify individual cases requiring management and ensure timely data collection, stakeholder communication, documentation, data entry, and completion of social study reports.
Conduct individual and family interviews to recommend interventions based on specific intervention plans.
Work closely with the protection team and staff on data collection, analysis, and production of project-related documents.
Identify, evaluate, and provide recommendations on community needs, whether for development or emergency interventions.
Establish and maintain working relationships with local resources, public institutions, and other operational-level stakeholders.
Follow up on and ensure timely submission of reports for supervised activities and partner activities according to internal reporting procedures.
Ensure that all case files, reports, and project-related documents are properly stored in the archiving system, placed in their designated locations according to the project’s system, and easily retrievable when needed.
Responsibility 2: Case management and referral pathway’s activities’ implementation
Identify the most vulnerable children in the targeted schools, assess their needs at both individual and household levels, and create a case management plan based on their needs and the goals and limits of HI’s intervention
Fill approved assessment forms and referral forms as needed
Referral of cases to relevant essential services and other NGOs, in and out of HI (including specific needs in physical and functional rehabilitation, MHPSS’s individual counselling or group activities), based on child protection identified risks
Conduct PFA (psychological First Aid) when required and based on the PFA training’s guideline received
Deliver cash assistance based on the beneficiaries’ protection risks and identified urgent needs part of the action plan and to receive relevant services, including transportation fees, according to the project Standard Operating Procedures (SoP)
Organize regular case follow-up and update case follow-up form according to documentation guidelines and coordinating with relevant actors’ link to individual needs based on the plan of action
Link with different stakeholders in the community and participate in relevant coordination meeting in the settlement (in coordination with the project team) when required
Identify different referral points and processes within the communities
Contribute to updating the mapping of services and the referral pathway for survivors of violence and children with protection needs. Ensure these information are well known by beneficiaries
Participate to safety audits of project facilities.
Conduct an analysis of the protection/safeguarding risks associated with the implementation of the case management activities.
Assess the specific needs of women, children and children with disabilities.
Discharge cases according to agreed discharge criteria
Being timely and able to promptly respond to the most urgent cases
Advocate for beneficiaries’ wellbeing internally and externally when relevant
Responsibility 3: Participate in data collection, reporting and other MEAL activities
Maintain complete data for each person, including detailed descriptions of services provided and evolution of the case; ensuring that all case files, and other records, strictly comply with SoPs and guidelines.
Constantly train the project CBAs on the use of the data collection tools (SurveyCTO)
Ensure confidentiality and respect all guidelines and documentation within the project.
Responsible for archiving case records and files with guidance from the technical unit and MEAL team.
Produce weekly activity reports and contribute to the development of project reports using HI templates, reporting any specific problem that jeopardize the activities and suggest solutions.
Prepare and submit monthly case report to the Project Manager
Participate in project review workshops
Responsibility 4: Coordination with HI teams and external actors
Internal coordination
Ensure people in need of services receive appropriate multidisciplinary support.
Work in close collaboration with the Project Supervisor, Specialists and other members of the team so that beneficiary cases are managed effectively
Work in close collaboration with volunteers, ensuring quality of service.
Timely follow-up and coordination with the Community Based Agents in the field.
Develop daily, weekly, and monthly field activity plans
Participate in the weekly or monthly HI activity planning meetings.
External coordination and networking
Develop and constantly review mapping to identify relevant services.
Identify and network with external service providers to reinforce referral mechanisms
Support the Project Manager in continuous mapping of services available in HI’s areas of intervention and evaluating services referred to ensure that they are effective
Apply HI internal tools for mapping exercise, providing timely data to be delivered to the office
Establish and maintain positive and efficient relations with target beneficiaries, school and community members, and all the other actors operating in the areas of intervention.
Participate in protection and/or coordination meetings with other stakeholders upon request of the Project Manager.

Suggest training topic according to work challenges and needs
Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice
Ensure compliance with HI values, MHPSS/ Protection technical standards and Code of Conduct;
Ensure PSEA and Child Safeguarding standards are upheld.

Respect beneficiary confidentiality and point of view
Respect and promote HI’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies among the teams or other actors
Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
Security
Follow all HI security rules in place, including movement tracking
Inform the line manager and/or Area Manager of any security issue faced on the field

Essential
University degree in social work, social studies, public health, or other related topics
Minimum 2 years providing direct support to children (case management, PSS support, teaching etc.)
Experience in supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and adults during crises
Computer knowledge (MS office package- including Excel);
Experience working in protection sector, particularly in case management.
Desirable
Experience working with International Non-governmental organizations
Experience in engaging and mobilizing communities
Good knowledge of international core standards and guidelines related to protection in humanitarian and development settings
