The Spafford Children Center (SCC), founded by Bertha Spafford Vester, is over 90 years old and has continuously served the community since its founding. SCC is looking for:
Project Coordinator
Position Type : Full Time
Reporting to:    Chief Executive
Location: Jerusalem. Old City
Starting Date:  January 30th, 2025

Purpose of the Job:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Special Education and Psychosocial Support Project, providing support to staff development, and ensuring effective implementation of project activities targeting children, youth, and parents at the Spafford Children’s Center. The coordinator will collaborate with teachers, therapists, parents, and administrators to deliver services that meet the best practice standards in special education and psychosocial support.

Main Tasks and Duties:

Implement procedures to identify the needs of children, youth, and parents, and ensure the provision of individualized educational and psychosocial support plans.
Evaluate and support the SCC project staff in implementing best practices in special education and psychosocial support methodologies.
Collaborate with speech and occupational therapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals at SCC to design and deliver integrated support plans for beneficiaries.
Facilitate professional development for the project staff in the areas of special education and psychosocial support.
Coordinate activities involving teachers and support staff to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
Monitor lesson plans, workshops, and activities to ensure alignment with project objectives and best practices.
Supervise day-to-day operations of the project, including staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, and ensuring staff coverage.
Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining communication with parents and community members, compiling records, overseeing curricula, and preparing information for reports to funders.

Requirements:

The following qualifications and skills are required for this position:

Master’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
A minimum of five years of experience in teaching or psychosocial support, with at least one year of experience in project coordination or a supervisory role.
Strong communication and coaching skills, with demonstrated experience in building relationships with other organizations.
Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and adapt to various contexts.
Excellent command of English, including exceptional writing skills.
Holding Jerusalem ID.
