Community Engagement & Humanitarian Affairs Officer leads the implementation, monitoring, and ongoing development of AFSC's Frontline Communities portfolio in the West Bank under the supervision and strategic guidance of the Palestine Program Manager. The Officer serves as the lead operational focal point for day-to-day portfolio implementation to translate program strategy into effective field-level action, strengthen partnerships, ensure accountability, and support evidence-based program decision-making. The portfolio works with communities experiencing heightened humanitarian, protection, and access restrictions to strengthen their ability to address immediate priorities, sustain essential community structures and social connections, and develop locally led responses.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of community engagement and humanitarian activities.
Build and maintain partnerships with communities, local organizations, and service providers.
Facilitate community consultations, needs assessments, and participatory planning processes.
Monitor program progress, budgets, risks, and implementation quality.
Support locally led initiatives and strengthen community resilience and engagement.
Coordinate with humanitarian actors and represent AFSC in relevant forums when required.
Collect and analyze program data, community feedback, and lessons learned.
Contribute to research, donor reporting, communications materials, and ethical storytelling.
Ensure compliance with AFSC policies, safeguarding standards, and donor requirements.
متطلبات الوظيفة:Education
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Community Development, Humanitarian Studies, International Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, humanitarian or development programming, project implementation, or partnership management.
Experience with local or international nonprofit organizations is preferred.
Skills
Strong community engagement, facilitation, and partnership-building skills.
Experience in project management, monitoring, assessment, and reporting.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent Arabic and working proficiency in English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
Commitment to humanitarian principles, safeguarding, diversity, and inclusion.
