About the role:
The Digital Illustration Trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering a practical, industry-relevant training program that equips participants with fundamental and intermediate digital illustration skills. The trainer will develop the curriculum and training materials, facilitate engaging and interactive sessions, provide mentorship and constructive feedback, and guide participants in creating portfolio-ready illustration projects.
The role requires a strong focus on hands-on learning, creativity, visual storytelling, and supporting participants in developing skills that can enhance their employability and professional opportunities within the creative industry.

The Instructor will provide up to 35 hours of preparation, training delivery, participant support, and related services throughout the contract period.
Deliverables:
The Digital Illustration Instructor will perform the following tasks:
Training Delivery Support
Deliver interactive Digital Illustration training sessions according to the agreed schedule.
Facilitate practical exercises and hands-on activities covering essential digital illustration concepts and techniques.
Introduce participants to relevant tools, software, workflows, and industry practices.
Share session materials, learning resources, references, and assignments with participants.
Support participants during the practical implementation of their illustration projects.
Guide participants through the complete illustration process, from idea development and sketching to final artwork and export.
Curriculum & Materials
Develop a detailed training outline and curriculum for the Digital Illustration training.
Prepare presentations, practical exercises, demonstrations, reference materials, and other learning resources.
Cover relevant topics such as drawing fundamentals, composition, color theory, perspective, line work, lighting and shading, textures, visual storytelling, and digital illustration workflows.
Design assignments and illustration projects that allow participants to apply their skills in practical and real-world scenarios.
Create engaging activities that encourage creativity, experimentation, artistic expression, and the development of an individual visual style.
Ensure the curriculum is suitable for the participants’ skill levels and aligned with the training objectives.
Participant Support & Evaluation
Review participants’ assignments and provide timely and constructive feedback.
Track participants’ attendance, engagement, progress, and skill development throughout the training.
Provide guidance and mentorship to participants during the development of their projects.
Support participants in developing portfolio-ready final illustration projects.
Evaluate participants’ performance based on their assignments, practical work, participation, progress, and final project outcomes.
Identify participants who may require additional support and coordinate with the Gaza Sky Geeks team when needed.
Monitoring & Reporting
Provide regular updates on participant progress, engagement, and any challenges encountered during the training.
Submit attendance records, assignment results, and participant evaluations as requested.
Document key training activities, achievements, and outcomes.
Submit a final report summarizing the training implementation, participant achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for future training.
Internal Coordination
Coordinate regularly with the Gaza Sky Geeks team regarding training implementation, scheduling, and participant progress.
Attend coordination and planning meetings with the Gaza Sky Geeks team when needed.
Communicate any challenges or required changes in a timely manner.
Incorporate feedback from the Gaza Sky Geeks team to ensure that the training aligns with the program’s objectives and expected outcomes.
Adhere to the agreed timeline, curriculum, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
Selection Criteria & Evaluation Methodology
Applicants will be evaluated based on best value for money, combining technical and financial scores:
Relevant experience and portfolio (CV): 40%
Training Outline: 40%
Financial offer (hourly rate): 20%
Total: 100%
Minimum requirements:
Relevant professional experience in digital illustration, visual arts, concept art, graphic design, digital painting, or a related creative field.
Experience in delivering training sessions, workshops, or educational programs in digital illustration or other creative disciplines.
Strong knowledge of illustration principles, including drawing fundamentals, composition, color theory, perspective, lighting, shading, and visual storytelling.
Proficiency in industry-standard digital illustration software and tools, such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, or equivalent tools.
Understanding of both raster- and vector-based illustration workflows is considered an asset.
Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and participant-support skills.
Ability to engage participants through practical, hands-on, and interactive learning activities.
Ability to develop training materials, exercises, assignments, evaluation methods, and final projects.
Ability to provide clear, constructive, and supportive feedback to participants.
Submission of an updated CV.
Submission of a portfolio showcasing relevant digital illustration work.
Submission of a proposed training outline.
Submission of a financial offer indicating the proposed hourly rate.
General Considerations for All Instructors:
Candidates must have proven experience in digital illustration, visual arts, concept art, digital painting, graphic design, or a related field.
Priority will be given to candidates with strong portfolios and previous training or facilitation experience.
Experience working with youth, university students, beginners, or early-career professionals is considered an asset.
Hours will be assigned based on need, with no guarantee of full utilization.
The selected Instructor is expected to coordinate closely with the Gaza Sky Geeks team and adhere to all agreed timelines and deliverables.
The Instructor must maintain a professional, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all participants.
Terms of Payment
Payment will be made based on completed deliverables and approved hours and with the submission of signed and approved timesheet and financial claim
The total quoted amount must be inclusive of VAT and stated in USD
A 5% income tax will be deducted as per regulations
