الوصف الوظيفي:
Welthungerhilfe is recruiting a Food Security &Nutrition Officer for our West Bank operations.

The role provides hands-on technical and operational support to ensure reliable projects of delivery in line with defined scopes, timelines, and budgets. While the current portfolio focuses on food security and nutrition, additional emergency-relief components are included. The Food Security/Nutrition Officer oversees day-to-day implementation of nutrition and food security programmes and activities in line with international standards, leads planning, coordination, and execution of activities with partners and stakeholders; while ensuring accurate, timely reporting to Welthungerhilfe’s country and regional offices.

Programs
Contextual analysis and needs assessment:
Provide hands on expertise in designing and implementing food Security/nutrition assessments in collaboration with MEAL team by incorporating food security and nutrition components under food security and nutrition sensitive and specific interventions.
Through assessments and literature review, identify the context-specific causes of malnutrition and food insecurity in operational areas and set monitoring priorities accordingly, flag to management in case of early-warning signals, and formulate adapted, evidence-based recommendations for programming and response design.
Conduct real-time evaluation and monitoring of the nutrition and food security situation, trigger operational alerts when thresholds are met, and participate in the immediate response to critical situations.
S/he collects all relevant information in the field for the implementation of the programme and updates her/his managers.
Programmes implementation:
Integrate nutrition and food security in WHH’s early recovery programmes, engaging in needs identification and in the design and delivery of implemented interventions.
Under the objective of strengthening nutrition sensitive programming in food aid, agriculture responses, the Food Security/Nutrition Officer  will work and collaborate closely with colleagues from other sectors ( livelihoods, Economy Recovery, Cash and Voucher assistance, and  WaSH…) including regular follow-ups on food security situation, concerns and support respective interventions to improve the impact on affected populations.
Provide expertise in nutrition and food security for WHH partners on activities carried out in the forecasted and ongoing projects.
Ensure implementation and monitoring of interventions in the pre-identified geographical areas.
Ensure that WHH institutional policies, standards, recommendations and guidance notes are adopted in the nutrition and food security related activities.
Support in the review and adaptation of nutrition and food security inputs/interventions in emergency and recovery responses.
In collaboration with the MEAL colleagues, s/he evaluates the impact of nutrition/food security projects, capitalizes on lessons learned, and integrates the latter in subsequent actions to improve the quality and pertinence of WHH interventions.
Coordination and Representation (internal and external)
S/he is responsible for holding continuous coordination with other colleagues from WHH such as MEAL and program team.
Review assessments, programme design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation plans by the pre-identified partners and suggest improvements.
Review and consolidate partner reports, producing supplementary reports on nutrition and food security projects implementation when necessary, and disseminates them to relevant counterparts.
S/he is responsible of attending and actively participating in sectors meeting or other relevant coordination meetings as requested
Support information sharing and coordination with organizations implementing similar activities to ensure complementarity and avoid duplication.
Contribute to reporting to clusters, donors, and internal stakeholders by providing timely and accurate input as requested
متطلبات الوظيفة:
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or professional diploma in Nutrition/Public Health (preferred), Food Science with proven experience in integrated project management.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in nutrition and food security interventions and in the aid sector (humanitarian and development), including in emergency settings.
Significant experience working with local organizations and across different parts of West Bank.
Technical skills & interpersonal competencies
Ability to plan and coordinate nutrition and food security surveys.
Conducts in-depth problem/situation analyses (especially in terms of nutrition and food security), addressing technical and institutional challenges.
Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms (especially those pertaining to nutrition and food security) in West Bank and active participation in them.
Context expertise: Good knowledge of the geographical areas of deployment and good awareness of socio-political and environmental dynamics; able to advise on context-specific factors (politics, religion, culture) that affect WHH activity implementation.
Excellent team player with strong coordination and communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the West Bank Strip.
Language & digital literacy
Excellent Arabic and English skills, spoken and written.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
