Who we are
Founded in 1996, Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst (forumZFD), an international non-profit organisation, is
currently active in 13 countries in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. Civil society actors who are
committed to peace and non-violence in conflicts form the focus of the organisation's work. forumZFD advises and supports them, collaborates on projects and campaigns together for sustainable peace policies.
forumZFD is a government-recognised member of the Civil Peace Service (CPS) consortium and a signatory
of the Transparent Civil Society Initiative.
About the role
The Project Officer will be responsible for working closely with current partners in Haifa along with supporting mapping of potential future partners in Israel specifically.
The position works in close coordination with the other Project Officer(s), Project Manager and Regional
Director. The Project Officer is under direct supervision of the Project Manager and general supervision of the Regional Director.
You will join a committed team to co-develop meaningful, context-sensitive approaches grounded in
forumZFD's values of non-violence and building a more just and peaceful future.
Your tasks and responsibilities/Key responsibilities
• Strengthen partner organisations performance and compliance by providing expert input,
technical guidance, administrative support and clear communication on organisational policies and
processes.
• Coordinate project development processes with partners, the Project Manager, and the PMEL
advisor, including project design, budgeting, reporting.
• Contribute to partnership development and growth by supporting the mapping of potential new
partners in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Ensure quality assurance and proper application of PMEL standards across project implementation and reporting.

Your profile
• Degree in social sciences, peacebuilding, management, human rights or international law, international development or other relevant fields.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience, preference for experience in peacebuilding/conflict transformation context.
• Excellent knowledge of the Palestine and Israel conflict context, with a proven record in working in
the peacebuilding sector with strong network connections.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Hebrew, with Arabic a strong asset.
• Experience in planning and carrying out the facilitation of workshops, training, and capacity building.
• A high level of personal efficiency and an ability to balance multiple tasks.
• A creative, open-minded, participatory approach with values aligned with those of forumZFD.
• Confident and constructively critical with a “big picture” strategic perspective
• A team-player who is able to work on their own initiative and adapt to changing contexts.
• A clear communicator, both verbally and written.

qualification and professional development courses, among others, at forumZFD’s Academy for Conflict
Transformation, and work coaching sessions.
Working for forumZFD, you will be engaged within the innovative field of conflict transformation and
peacebuilding through the utilization of your skills.
This position is based in East Jerusalem and applicants must have the right to work in East Jerusalem.
Unfortunately, forumZFD is currently not in a position to support permit applications.
The role is part-time and will continue until the end of the current donor funding cycle in 2027, with the possibility of extension depending on programme needs.
