About GSG:

Gaza Sky Geeks (GSG) is Gaza’s first and only innovation hub and start-up accelerator, operated by Mercy Corps (MC), an international non-profit relief and development organization that has been implementing programs in the occupied Palestinian territories since the 1980s. GSG was founded by Mercy Corps in partnership with Google.org in 2011, with the aim of transforming Gaza’s most talented youth into the Middle East’s future technology leaders and realizing Gaza’s potential as a regional start-up hub.

In addition to running tech ecosystem activities and outreach events, GSG offers a co-working hub, as well as incubation and acceleration programs. Beginning in 2017, GSG also launched two new programming verticals under its brand.

Scope of Work:

Program: Freelance Club 2025 – Gaza Sky Geeks (GSG)

Position: Mentor

Objective

The Mentor will support participants of the Freelance Club program by delivering training sessions, providing guidance, and ensuring effective follow-up to maximize learning outcomes, enhance technical skills, and improve participants’ employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation

Collaborate with the program team to create and/or adapt a detailed syllabus and session agenda for review and approval.
Review weekly content to ensure alignment with the program’s overall objectives and participants’ needs.
Support the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team in conducting pre- and post-training assessments.
Assist the Program team in participant selection processes, including interviews if required.
Session Delivery

Plan and execute assigned training or mentoring sessions according to the approved program schedule.
Ensure content is practical, relevant, and aligned with program objectives.
Deliver sessions in a proactive and engaging manner, encouraging participation and interaction.
Provide mentorship that fosters practical application of skills through exercises, assignments, and group/individual activities.
Follow-Up and Monitoring

Track participants’ engagement, progress, and performance throughout the program.
Provide individual or group follow-up support to address gaps and strengthen learning.
Identify participants who are struggling and communicate feedback and recommendations to the Program team.
Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure all required documentation is submitted.
Reporting

Record session outcomes, participant progress, and key observations using the GSG tracker.
Submit regular progress reports and updates to the program coordination team.
Provide feedback and insights that inform program improvements.
Collaboration and Updates

Coordinate with fellow mentors to ensure consistency in course delivery and participant support.
Actively participate in Program team meetings and discussions when requested.
Share timely updates and constructive feedback with the program team.
Mode of Delivery

Sessions and follow-up activities will be conducted primarily online.
Reporting and communication will be carried out through designated program channels.
Timeline & Duration

Training period: From 15/10/2025 to 15/12/2025  (8weeks)
Frequency: in the first five weeks,  it will be 3 sessions / in the remaining 3 weeks, the sessions will be 2 sessions per week
Level of Effort (LoE)

The trainer is expected to dedicate a total of [50] hours during the assignment.
This includes preparation, session delivery, follow-up, reporting, and coordination tasks.

Mentor  Qualifications
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology or a related field.
Has worked as a freelancer for more than 4 years in the technology and software development scope.
Provides services on multiple freelance platforms.
Achieved a Job Success Score above 90% on freelance platforms, especially on Upwork platform.
Successfully completed over 100 projects with a variety of clients through the global market across more than one freelance platform.
Maintains a strong professional reputation and positive attitude on Upwork, Mostaql, and Fiverr.
Previously worked with Gaza Sky Geeks as A Mentor in Freelance Academy.
Completed a Training of Trainers (TOT) program with Gaza Sky Geeks.
Graduate of the Gaza Sky Geeks Freelance Academy program.
Terms of Payment:

The total quoted amount shall be inclusive of VAT and stated in USD.
Payment will be made after the completion of the service against a filled and signed service completion report and financial claim/invoice, and a timesheet.
10% will be deducted from the total invoice amount if the deduction of tax at the source of the deduction letter شهادة خصم مصدر  is not provided by the service provider
