من إخراج مات بيترسون ومالك رسامني. واحتفاءً بهذه المناسبة، سيُشارك مخرجا الفيلم في مناقشة بعد العرض.

يعرض الفيلم المحميات الهندية في أمريكا إلى جانب مخيمات اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، وقد امتد تصويره من عام 2014 حتى عام 2017 في أريزونا، ونيو مكسيكو، ونيويورك، وساوث داكوتا، بالإضافة إلى لبنان والضفة الغربية. وهو محاولة لفهم أهمية الأرض - ذاكرتها وانقساماتها - وظروف الحياة والمجتمع والسيادة.

Spaces of Exception comes out of a long-term multimedia project “The Native and the Refugee”. Here, the filmmakers profiled the American Indian reservation in the United States alongside the Palestinian refugee camp in the Middle East.
The documentary was filmed from 2014-2017 in Arizona, New Mexico, New York, and South Dakota in the United States, as well as in Lebanon and the West Bank.

These portraits are an attempt to understand the land - its memory and divisions - and to understand the conditions for life, community, and sovereignty.

About the filmmakers
Matt Peterson directed a film on the Tunisian insurrection, Scenes from a Revolt Sustained, with a production grant from the Doha Film Institute. His films and videos have screened at venues including Anthology Film Archives, e-flux, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, and MoMA PS1. He was a member of the collectives Red Channels and the 16 Beaver Group, and since 2014 he has been a member of Woodbine in New York City USA.

Malek Rasamny is a researcher, writer, speaker and filmmaker based in both New York and Beirut whose writings have been published in The Daily Star and Fuse. He has worked at the Maysles Documentary Center, and was a founding member of the LERFE space in Harlem and Red Channels.
