Midwife – Labor & Postnatal Departments (Ob/GYN)
Holy Family Hospital provides a wide range of medical services, including delivery services, prenatal and antenatal care, well-women clinic, diabetic clinic for pregnant women, gynecology surgeries, neonatal intensive care for premature babies, and outpatient clinics.

The hospital belongs administratively and financially to the Order of Malta, a religious Order founded in Jerusalem in 1048. Its mission is summarized in its motto: “Tuitio fidei et obsequium pauperum” (“Defence of the faith and assistance to the poor”), reflected in its projects across more than 120 countries, providing medical, social, and humanitarian care to people in need without regard to religion or nationality.

Holy Family Hospital is seeking to recruit qualified Midwives to join the Labor & Postnatal Departments (Ob/GYN Department).

Contract Type:

Fixed-term contract for one year, renewable based on performance and hospital needs.

Job Summary:
The Midwife provides comprehensive care for women during labor, delivery, and postnatal recovery. Responsibilities include monitoring maternal and newborn health, assisting with deliveries (normal, caesarean, minor/major operations), administering medications, supporting parents, documenting medical records, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols in both Labor and Postnatal units.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery from a recognized university.
Valid license to practice from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Membership certificate from the Palestinian Nursing Association.
Fluency in Arabic and English.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and hospital systems).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and within shift and emergency systems.
Clinical & Professional Duties:

Provide direct care during labor, delivery, and postnatal period.
Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document accurately.
Follow medical orders and department protocols precisely.
Assist in emergency situations and identify high-risk cases.
Attend doctors’ rounds and participate in handovers.
Patient & Family Care:

Educate mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postnatal health.
Provide emotional support to parents and newborns, including cases of miscarriage, neonatal death, or complications.
Operational Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the ward and equipment.
Report shortages and ensure efficient use of materials.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
Professional Development:

Engage in continuous learning and training.
Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism.
General Requirements:

Commitment to hospital policies, mission, and values.
Respect for patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
