Since 2020, WeWorld has rapidly expanded its operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, leading to a need for additional personnel to assist its current emergency operations, and to lead the future expansion in the development area.
Purpose of the Role:
The Finance Reporting Specialist is responsible for the financial and accounting management of some of the organisation’s projects in the Palestine mission, ensuring that all activities comply with donor regulations and meet established deadlines.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Continuous monitoring of the expenditure of assigned projects, promptly identifying any over- or underspending. The Specialist will work closely with the Project Managers, the Deputy Finance Manager, and the Head of Support Services to propose operational solutions that ensure compliance with the budget and achievement of project objectives.
Supervision of the cash flow of assigned projects, ensuring efficient allocation of financial resources and accurate recording of accounting transactions in the organisation’s management system.
Preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reports, in full compliance with the deadlines and reporting requirements set by donors.
Management and updating of the project archive, both in digital and paper format, ensuring that documentation meets donor compliance requirements and the organisation’s internal procedures.
Liaison with operational and institutional stakeholders involved in implementing the assigned project activities.
Financial focal point for the projects managed in collaboration with external partners. The Specialist will ensure that the financial reports received from partners comply with the approved budget and donor regulations, providing support and oversight as needed.
Verification of the compliance of payments made, adhering to reporting rules and donor regulations.
Ongoing support to Project Managers in planning, reviewing, and monitoring project budgets, offering guidance on best practices for financial management and resource optimisation.
Coordination with the organisation’s finance team to support project audits and ensure the timely collection of required information and supporting documentation.
The Specialist operates in accordance with the procedures, manuals, and policies adopted by the organisation, ensuring their application and promoting adherence by other team members.
Short missions to Palestine may be required to carry out the aforementioned activities.
The duties and responsibilities set forth above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to perform additional duties requested by the Line Manager.
متطلبات الوظيفة:Diploma or vocational qualification in a related field
Bachelors degree in a related field
Minimum experience of 3 years in same or similar role in NGOs
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Data cleaning skills and keen attention to detail
Familiar with financial allocation concepts and processes
Extensive previous donor reporting/compliance experience
Previous experience with Italian-based NGO and/or donors preferred
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
Fluency in English, knowledge of Italian an asset
Legal right to work in West Bank
Residence in or near the advertised duty station
Willingness to travel to other WeWorld offices in West Bank upon request
