The ICRC Delegation in Israel and the Occupied Territories (IL/OT), is recruiting a talented, energetic, and engaged candidate for the following position:

Generalist Field Officer

Place of Employment : Ramallah

Contract duration :1 Year contract, renewable

Trial period :3 months

Occupation rate  :100%

Functional responsibilities:

Contributes in a delegation or sub-structure to implementing (or implements) and following up various field activities, in accordance with objectives.
Monitors the humanitarian environment and needs, and analyses the security, socioeconomic, cultural and political environment as relevant to the ICRC. Shares relevant information with colleagues and reports any changes in the situation.
Contributes to design and implementation of projects.
Collects, compiles, translates/interprets information about the projects and contributes to written reporting.
Participates in internal and external meetings and develops and maintains contacts with municipal/regional authorities, local/regional Red Cross/Red Crescent Society branches and the population.
Prepares, participates and reports on all aspects of field assignments.
Participates in, and may carry out independently, administrative follow-up of field missions.
May support and supervise staff in the implementation and monitoring of field projects.
Protection responsibilities:

Continuously monitors the humanitarian and security situation in the Area of Responsibility.
Is aware of incidents related to the conflict and identifies protection concerns and trends.
Independently collects or participates actively with the Delegate in charge in the collection of information regarding relevant PPC incidents from various sources (victims, beneficiaries, third parties etc.)
Is responsible for timely administrative follow-up on documented PCP events (filling PPC event forms in PROT 6,). Also ensures that PPC documentation is complete and up-to-date in PROT6.
Is responsible for the necessary follow-up with victims and witnesses; and for keeping the beneficiaries informed.
Supports the Delegate in the preparation of interventions to the IL authority.
Conducts field trips to provide the Delegate within depth analysis of the protection and concerns.
Prepares maps, coordinates and documents facilitating the delegate to carry out effective interventions.
Advises delegates on best practices in addressing protection concerns in line with the ICRC strategy and PPC guidelines for IL/OT.
Anticipates, together with the Delegate, the potential aggravations of protection trends, in order to help the ICRC to place preventive measures.
Ensures the duty during week, weekends and holidays.
Education & professional experience:University degree or relevant professional experience.
Excellent command (spoken and written) of English and Arabic, Hebrew is an asset.
Proficient in Computer skills.
3-5 years' professional experience in a related field of activity.
Valid Driving License – Manual is an asset.
