Job Summary
The Advocacy & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for supporitng the organiztion’s mission by strengthening visibility, coordination with relevant stakeholders, outreach & public engagement, strategic advocacy and effective communication efforts.

A key responsibility of the position is to represent and contribute on behalf of St. Yves to relevant human rights consortia, coalitions, networks, and joint initiatives. This includes coordinating St. Yves’ technical contributions, participating in joint advocacy and communications activities, supporting shared research and publications, and ensuring that consortium engagement remains consistent with St. Yves’ mandate, policies, and advocacy priorities.

This role includes translating St. Yves’ legal expertise and casework into clear, accurate, and compelling advocacy and communications products for local and international audiences, and supporting engagement with media outlets, donors, diplomatic missions, civil society organizations, United Nations bodies, and other relevant stakeholders

Key Responsibilities
Advocacy and Legal Analysis

Monitor and maintain knowledge of relevant legal, policy, and human rights developments, particularly in East Jerusalem and Area C related to St. Yves’ mandate.

Draft and contribute to policy briefs, legal updates, fact sheets, case studies, statements, reports, and advocacy materials.

Translate St. Yves’ legal casework into clear advocacy messages and recommendations.

Support engagement with decision-makers, diplomatic missions, donors, UN bodies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.

Promote beneficiaries’ rights in accordance with St. Yves’ mandate and advocacy strategy.

Communications and Public Engagement

Develop communications materials in Arabic and English, including press releases, website and social media content, newsletters, and campaign materials.

Maintain relations with local and international media and coordinate interviews, briefings, and responses to media enquiries.

Organize advocacy campaigns, public events, stakeholder briefings, and field visits.

Document relevant cases and human rights developments in coordination with St. Yves’ legal and field teams.

Monitor media coverage and maintain organized records of communications products and outreach activities.

Ensure that all communications respect confidentiality, informed consent, dignity, and do-no-harm principles.

Consortium and Partner Coordination

Represent St. Yves in relevant human rights consortia, coalitions, networks, and working groups.

Coordinate St. Yves’ contributions to joint advocacy strategies, campaigns, reports, publications, events, and communications products.

Gather input from St. Yves’ legal, programme, and management teams and follow up on agreed consortium activities and deliverables.

Maintain regular coordination with consortium members and keep St. Yves’ management informed of key discussions, commitments, opportunities, and risks.

Ensure that information shared externally is accurate, authorized, and consistent with St. Yves’ mandate and confidentiality requirements.

Project Support and Reporting

Support the planning, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of advocacy and communications activities.

Contribute to project proposals, workplans, indicators, narrative reports, and donor communications.

University degree in law, human rights, political science, international relations, journalism, communications, development studies, or another relevant field. An advanced degree is an asset.

At least five years of relevant professional experience

Strong Knowledge of housing land and property law, freedom of movement and residency rights.

Experience coordinating with civil society organizations, human rights networks, consortia, international organizations, donors, or diplomatic missions.

Strong understanding of the legal, political, social, and economic context in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly East Jerusalem and Area C.

Strong communications, interpersonal, networking and presentation skills.

Very good command of English language both written and oral.

Demonstrated experience in developing advocacy materials, public communications, policy briefs, legal updates, reports, or media content.

Knowledge of housing, land and property rights, residency rights, freedom of movement, planning and construction policies, and related human rights issues.

Experience organizing advocacy campaigns, public events, stakeholder briefings, media engagements, or field visits.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a sensitive and rapidly changing environment.
