Background
The East Jerusalem Young Men's Christian Association (EJ-YMCA) founded in 1948, is a vibrant and integral part of the Palestinian social movement and a leader among Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations. It is an independent, neutral and professional organization, affiliated with the global YMCA movement. As a member of the World Alliance of YMCAs, the EJ-YMCA is committed to a unique vision of community, based on the universal values of human dignity, peace, and justice.
The EJ-YMCA is deeply rooted in the Palestinian society and runs a variety of programs based on local priorities in areas of: vocational and technical training (TVET), economic empowerment and employment, rehabilitation and mental health, advocacy, youth participation, and women empowerment.
The EJ-YMCA Rehabilitation Program whose mission is to work on the mental health of persons with disabilities and survivors of political violence by providing field-based psychosocial and professional rehabilitation services through a holistic and human rights participatory approach; covering the areas of the West Bank through coordination and partnership with the relevant parties to create a receptive, appropriate and supportive environment for our target groups.
EJ-YMCA Rehabilitation Program strive to achieve the following strategic objectives:
Specific Objective 1: Enhanced mental health and reintegration of targeted beneficiaries and their families
Specific objective 2: Enhanced capacities of MHPSS practitioners
Specific Objective 3: Enhanced level of rights holders’ and duty bearers’ engagement (primary and secondary) to uphold the rights of targeted beneficiaries.
Objective of the assignment
EJ-YMCA Rehabilitation program seeks to recruit a highly qualified Project Coordinator to support the implementation of a project jointly implemented by World Vision Germany, World Vision Jerusalem West Bank Gaza, East Jerusalem Young Men’s Christian Association, and Treatment and Rehabilitation Center. The project, entitled “Strengthening Mental Health through Inclusive MHPSS Services for Vulnerable Children, Youth, and Adults in the West Bank,” aims to enhance mental well-being and protection outcomes for vulnerable populations.
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to improved mental health and psychosocial well-being of children and their families in vulnerable Areas B and C of the West Bank, in line with SDG 3, by expanding access to structured, inclusive Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and protection services. Specifically, the project seeks to increase access to high-quality, needs-based psychological support services for children, adolescents, and adults in the governorates of Nablus and Salfit.
The primary objective of the Project Coordinator position is to ensure the effective planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all project activities in compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of project interventions in Nablus and Salfit, ensuring timely achievement of project outputs, high-quality documentation and reporting, effective coordination with partners, and full adherence to donor guidelines and organizational standards.
Scope of work
The project coordinator will be responsible for the following:
coordinating and overseeing project functions.
Providing effective logistic, financial, and management support to the project.
Developing action plans and supervise and coordinate the timely and efficient implementation of all project activities.
Managing budgets and ensure efficiency and accountability.
Coordinating the financial-related issues in full coordination with the accounting department.
Ensuring proper, professional, documented, and clear communication with the project staff regarding all aspects of the project activities.
Contributing in supporting MEAL process and deliver regular narrative and progress reports.
Overseeing the teams' provision of services to children and families.
Communicating with the relevant donor personnel with respect to the practical implementation and technical demands.
Communicating with field supervisor to ensure proper implementation of the different activities.
Coordinating and overseeing activities related to advocacy.
متطلبات الوظيفة:Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Development or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP) is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.
Proven track record of delivering programs, especially for NGO, INGO sector.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Leadership and team coordination abilities.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Cultural sensitivity and commitment to gender equality and inclusion.
Ability to Travel to Bethlehem once a week.
