Overview
This is a remote, freelance contract for a developer with a health and wellness company focused on science-backed nutrition. The developer will build and enhance WordPress sites for a company providing entertainment data solutions. The focus is on performance, scalability, and seamless integration with external systems.

This role is ideal for developers who love solving complex problems with data and performance in WordPress environments. We’re looking

for someone proactive, with strong database and API skills, who can handle large-scale tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
• Database Management: Design, optimize, and manage WordPress databases using MySQL. Write scripts for tasks like handling large data downloads without slowing down the site.

• API Development: Create custom APIs and integrate third-party services for smooth data exchange.

• Performance Optimization: Fix bottlenecks to keep the site fast and reliable, even during heavy tasks.

• Feature Development: Build custom features and responsive designs using PHP and WordPress tools.

• Code Quality: Review, test, and document code for long-term scalability.

• Collaboration: Work with a Symfony development team to connect WordPress with other systems via APIs.

Skills and Requirements
• Expertise in WordPress, PHP, MySQL, and REST APIs.

• Experience with large data management and performance optimization.

• Bonus: Experience with React plugins for Gutenberg and troubleshooting MySQL issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• experience in WordPress and PHP stack.

• Fluent in English for oral and written business communications.
