Background: 

Ibda'a Cultural Center (Ibda'a) is a grassroots, community-based organization located in Dheisheh refugee, Bethlehem. Since its foundation in 1994, Ibda'a serves more than 10000 children, youth, men and women annually, and provides employment and income to some families in the camp. Ibda'a’s mission is to create a positive atmosphere for residents of the refugee camp and surrounding areas in order to assist them in developing creativity and leadership skills through a range of social, cultural and educational activities. Ibda'a believes that by empowering the most vulnerable members of our community through offering training in skills from diverse fields, we provide a space for Palestinian refugees to activate their role in society and participate in addressing the public’s needs and concerns. As a result, Ibda'a instils a culture of democracy and acceptance of others, away from all forms of prejudice. Ibda'a’s goals serve as a compass for all activities and describe how the Ibda'a family behaves inside and outside the camp.

To pursue achieving the delivery of High quality to its direct and indirect beneficiaries, Ibdaa seeks to recruit a highly qualified fundraising and proposal writing officer as described below.

Position: Development/Fundraising/Proposal Writing Officer             

Location: Ibdaa main headquarter, Dheisheh Refugee Camp, Bethlehem, Palestine

Scope: Full-time/Part-Time (Negotiable)

Availability: Immediately

Role Purpose:

The Development/Fundraising/Proposal Writing Officer contributes to the financial and organizational stability of Ibdaa by assisting the Administrative and Financial unit in their duties. This includes the preparation of Ibdaa’s grant proposals and reports to donors, monitor and document Ibdaa’s activities, projects and programs, and search for new sources and modalities of funding.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare a comprehensive fund-raising plan for one year to act as a roadmap of his/her duties and expected results with clear and measurable indicators;
Map potential donors and prepare lists of those to be approached;
Maintain contact of current donors;
Brainstorm with Ibdaa BoD and administrative staff to decide on priority areas of interventions;
Develop high-quality funding proposals and budgets for specific projects by working in collaboration with Ibdaa’s staff; 
Deliver proposals and budgets on time and in accordance with donor requirements;
Write/produce organizational, project and grant reports that are delivered on time and according to our donors’ guidelines.
Maintain communications with Ibdaa staff to obtain data and materials for reports;
Monitor and document Ibdaa’s activities, projects and programs and maintain organized files and templates for reporting;
Search for new relevant funding sources and develop and implement alternative methods of funding.
متطلبات الوظيفة:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree or equivalent qualification or work experience in project cycle management, fundraising, grant writing, monitoring and evaluation, etc.
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in fundraising/grant writing;
Excellent English speaking, writing and editing skills: ability to write clear, concise and well-structured reports adhering to donor templates and requirements in English;
Excellent observation, documentation and analytical skills;
Sound understanding of project cycle management, and different methodologies such as logical framework, theory of change, outcome mapping, results-based reporting, etc.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team; willingness to work long hours if required; and,
Ability to work in an intercultural environment.
Sound understanding of the donors map in Palestine.
