About Teach for Palestine

Teach for Palestine is a newly established independent Palestinian NGO, active in the West Bank, with the purpose of contributing to quality inclusive education for every child in Palestine, through fostering innovative teaching and learning and improving the quality learning environments in marginalized schools. TFP will work to develop collective leadership by investing in promising leaders who commit to teach in vulnerable schools and become lifelong advocates for the right of every child to learn in safe and quality learning environments and take actions towards achieving this right. Teach for Palestine has signed a MoU with Teach for All to be part of its global network.

Role Purpose:

Under the direct supervision of the Chairperson of the Board, the CEO is responsible for the overall performance of the executive team, complying with the regulations, laws, policies, and procedures, adhering to the organization’s strategy, and achieving its objectives and key performance indicators. The CEO also has to implement the decisions of the Board of Directors.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Preparing the draft for the strategic plan to be endorsed by the Board of Directors.
Overseeing the organization’s financial management, including the preparation and management of budgets, and the development of administrative and financial strategic plans, in addition to preparing periodic reports.
Overseeing personnel management including talent acquisition, development, and retention.
Overseeing programs management, including financial plans and budgets, ensuring the quality of their design and implementation and profound and scalable impact, in addition to preparing periodic reports.
Attract funding, including preparing annual plans, submitting proposals, and communicating with individual and institutional donors.
Managing media and local and international public relations, strengthening existing relations and building new ones.
Coordinating, networking and cooperating with governmental and charitable organizations, the private sector in Palestine, and with international organizations working in education.
Preparing periodic reports for the Board of Directors and donors.
Representing the organization in the media and local and international forums.
Leading development initiatives for the work of the organization.
Coordinating the work of the committees and task forces of the Board of Directors and serving as a focal point for the preparation of files and related follow-ups.
Any other tasks requested by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Job qualifications:

Master's degree, at least, in public administration, humanities, hard sciences or educational sciences. an educational diploma is a plus.
At least 5 years of professional experience in managing NGOs, with experience in program management of at least 10 years. Experience in education is a plus.
