Project Manager- Water Design
Job Description & Specifications

Title: Project Manager- Water Design
Reports to: Managing Partners
Location: Ramallah

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in close coordination with management and technical staff, and under the direction of the Managing Partners, the Design Project Manager will be responsible for managing and designing a project. This position is based in SES’s office in Ramallah.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

-Design water supply and wastewater system networks.
-Select equipment for use in water and wastewater systems.
-Review plans, or designs related to water or wastewater systems.
-Provide technical direction or supervision to junior engineers, engineering or computer-aided design (CAD) technicians, or other technical personnel.
-Perform hydraulic analyses of water supply systems or water distribution networks to model flow characteristics.
-Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of facilities, such as water supply systems, and wastewater treatment plants, or wastewater collection systems.
-Conduct environmental impact studies related to water and wastewater collection, treatment, or distribution.
-Design pumping systems, pumping stations, pipelines, force mains, or sewers for the collection of wastewater. 
-Preparing tender documents.
-Manage project budgets.
-Producing technical and other project related reports. 
-Liaising with clients, government agencies and local authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS: (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

EDUCATION: 
Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

-Minimum 12 years of demonstrable experience of successful achievement of producing designs, both initial outlines and full plans, of water and wastewater systems.
-Project management experience across a range of disciplines, contract/procurement. 
-Experience managing and leading project teams to successful outcomes;
-Good client and stakeholder relationship building skills;
-Effective communication with client’s project team.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels and functions within the company; 
-A master’s degree in water and environmental engineering will be considered as a plus. 

LANGUAGES: 
Fluent in Arabic, excellent English speaking and writing skills.
