The Palestine Techno Park (Technopark), is an independent non-profit legal entity, based at Birzeit University. The Technopark was created through a generous donation from the Republic of India for the Palestine – India Technopark Infrastructure and Building. The Technopark is seeking energetic talent individual to fill a full-time Accounting and Administrative Officer position at its temporary office at Birzeit University.
The Accounting & Administrative Officer will report directly to the Technopark CEO. She/he should have experience, knowledge initiative and drive to be a forceful champion in the organization.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Assist in the selection of an accounting software that is suitable for the Technopark
-Practical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS Standards) and other Accounting standards
-Ensures maintenance of effective administrative and financial internal controls to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements and administrative reports.
-Prepares monthly financial statements and ensures their accuracy and timeliness for the Technopark, its donors and beneficiaries.
-Complete contracts and invoice clients and prepare follow-up letters, follow up with the milestones, the monthly invoices and the reporting issue. Prepare a variety of written reports and materials.
-Ensures compliance with any and all financial and contract reporting requirements for private or public funding, licensing, leasing or regulatory agencies.
-Assists in resolving accounting and financial problems and/or issues.
-Ensures complete and up-to-date operating procedures for all accounting and financial controls as well as administrative issues including payroll, procurement, operational and human resource expenses.
-Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow projections related to the Board of Directors.
-Ensures proper preparation for annual financial audit.
-Reviews all receipts and disbursements, ascertains correct account distribution and ensuring all support documentation is accurate and in order.
-Develop business plan, cash flow statements.
-Establish record keeping and recording systems.
-Manage cash and risk.
-Design benefit realization plans and return on investment calculations.
-Manage assets (inventory).
-Evaluate and develop necessary controllership processes; reconcile claims information; accounting projects to increase data accuracy, efficiency and reduce costs.
-Responsible for processing monthly closing, account analysis, processing expense statements and reporting.
-Vendor contact and compiling and preparing special reports as required.
-Strong negotiation, customer service and communications skills.
-Ability to work within a team.
-Good experience in accounting system implementation.
-Project leadership skills; interpersonal and communications skills.
-Assists in preparing special cost studies and financial models as required.
-Perform additional duties as requested by the governance structure of the Technopark
Qualifications:
-A Bachelors degree in Accounting and / or Finance.
-At Least 4 years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of accounting, financial and administrative works.
-Good knowledge of and experience in the non-profit sector and donors regulations
-Good knowledge of and experience in the local accounting system
-Strong analytic, personal and communications skill.
-Very good in spoken and written Arabic and English
-Excellent problem solving skills and ability to handle stress and meet deadline
-Proficiency with MS word, Excel and MS Power Point
