Internship Announcement

In Palestine, GIZ sectoral areas of engagement focus on technical and higher education, enhancing employment opportunities, supporting the economic resilience of Palestinian enterprises, promoting sustainable water resources management, as well as good governance and improved municipal service delivery. We also strengthen civil society, support initiatives that foster social cohesion, resilience, and peace.  

All GIZ interventions in Palestine align with the National Development Pact for the Future of Palestine and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which guide our efforts toward inclusive and sustainable development.  

The Civil Peace Service (CPS) Programme aims to promote peace in conflict-affected communities across Palestine. Implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the programme works closely with local partner organizations to strengthen psychosocial well-being, foster inclusive dialogue, and create opportunities for peaceful engagement. The programme comprises two complementary components: the CPS Core Programme, which focuses on psychosocial support and strengthening peace discourses in protracted conflict settings, and the CPS SIGA Programme, which promotes violence prevention, encounter, and exchange among youth from Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Through these interventions, CPS supports local actors and civil society organizations in creating and maintaining safe spaces for children, youth, and caregivers, strengthening their capacities to address the impacts of ongoing violence and social fragmentation. In addition, the programme fosters opportunities for encounter, exchange, and dialogue across geographic and social divides, contributing to peaceful coexistence and resilience within Palestinian society.

To support the implementation of the Civil Peace Service Programme in Palestine, we are looking for a full-time (100%):

“Intern - Civil Peace Service”

Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:

Assist the admin, finance and technical staff in the preparation and implementation of projects of the partner organizations.
Support in maintaining and updating project documentation, files, and records in compliance with GIZ standards.
Perform general office tasks, such as filing, copying and scanning project related documents
Translate documents from Arabic to English and vice versa.
Support in the collection, preparation, and organization of documents for procurements and travels settlements for CPS staff and project counterparts.
Assist with procurement of office materials and services as needed.
Support preparation and formatting of reports, presentations, and other project outputs.
Assist in collecting and compiling information for project monitoring and knowledge management
Participate in team meetings and document decisions and action items.
متطلبات الوظيفة:
Required qualifications, competences, and experience:

Recent graduate (graduation date not more than six months prior to the start of the internship), or a Bachelor student in their third or fourth year of university studies.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Data Science or any field relevant to the subject of the programme
Fluency in English and Arabic (speaking, writing and reading)
Excellent computer skills (especially Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
Creative, innovative, excellent communication skills
Fast learner, self-initiator, focused, team-player, highly motivated
