Position Title: Field Social Worker
Working Location: North Area (Nablus-Salfit-Tulkarm-Qalqilya-Tubas-Jenin) with frequent visits to Bethlehem and between northern WB cities.
Status: Full Time
Contract Type: Limited Contract
Mission of the position:
The field worker will take part in the day-to-day implementation of the SOS project in northern WB, consisting of two main componens, Direct Family Empowerment-DFE), and (Community Empowerment for Family Empowerment-CFE), with y youth empowerment as cross-cutting interventions.,. S/he will be responsible to assess the children/family situation and support the the formulation of family development planning (FDP) process and oversee the implementation, along with delivery of progress reports through regular family visits, s/he will support, guide and counsel families to ensure children's essential needs are met. The position holder will also engage in implementation of CFE activities which aims at building capcities of the community structure, organizations, and leaders, in addition to engage in advocacy for children, family, and youth rights.S/he will also have to organise various pscho-social group activities for the beneficiaries and communities. Working closely with the community, the field social worker will report directly to the Project Manager.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:
Support the provision of services to beneficiary families
a) Assist with the initial assessment of potential beneficiaries, as required by the project manager.
b) Establish and regularly review family development plans (FDP) with each family to ensure children's essential survival and developmental needs are met in the short and long term and to ensure caregivers/families understand the aim of the project and contribute/work towards their self-reliance.
c) Organise and facilitate relevant services offered through the project, including such activities as care-givers capacity building in childcare, support groups, psycho-social support to the project beneficiaries and child recreational activities.
d) Provide psychosocial counselling to beneficiaries as necessary and based on capacity and manage for referral pathways when needed.
e) Collaboration with administrative and financial staff to prepare the purchase requests and financial claims for vendors and beneficiaries
Keep up-to-date information regarding beneficiaries and services provided
a) Establish beneficiary filing system and keep up-to-date records on SOS database.
b) Keep record of all services and trainings provided to the families to inform the implementation and MEAL reports.
c) Report on beneficiary/family progress and provide necessary information needed for the project reporting
d) Providing feedback on the relevance and quality of designed interventions, report to the poject manager to react accordingly where’s applicable.
Involve the community in the implementation of the project.
a) Establish a network of professional relationships with the community and/or local authorities, CBOs, and community leaders.
b) Follow up and guide the community volunteers' work.
c) Cooperate with partners staff and volunteers and knowledge exchange.
d) Participate in organizing workshops with stakeholders which contribute to achieving the project’s goal.
Contribute to the realisation of child rights in general as well as the development of the organisation in this regard in particular.

b) Take action or report to the adequate structure any child's rights violation cases.
c) Keep track of child rights issues in general as well as current social development issues and trends relevant to the organisation’s mission.
Child Safeguarding (CS)
A. Responsible within own area of work to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
B. Responsible for reporting any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the IOR CS focal person and/or to the respective line manager.

Must Criteria
• University degree in social work or in any other psycho-social or socio-pedagogic sector
(i.e. psychology, pedagogy, sociology etc.,)
• At least four years of direct working experience in social services
• Experience in applying case management procedures, including social work methods and practises in the work with children and families
• Very Good knowledge of child development, family functioning, human behaviour and social environment
• Good knowledge of children rights
• Experience in individual and group counselling
• Strong communication skills
• Computer literacy and dealing with CRM software and data entry.
• Good level of English language
Competencies – knowledge, skills
Knowledge
• Good knowledge of social welfare policies, services, laws at national level and set up of national child protection and social system
• Good experience in networking and partnering with community-based organizations-CBOs.
• Knowledge on social work ethics, theories and methods in work with children and families
• Knowledge on child protection and children rights
• Knowledge on social issues facing children and families, such as health (including HIV/AIDS), poverty, lack of access to education, child abuse and neglect, gender violence, discrimination, substance abuse etc.
• Knowledge on how traditions, culture, beliefs and customs influence human functioning and development at all levels
• Understanding of cultural diversity, characteristics of special target groups, implications for assessment and intervention
• Understanding of services, including crisis intervention, parenting skills training, family counselling, conflict resolution and individual and group counselling.
