الوصف الوظيفي:
Position: Protection Officer

Duty Station: Hebron

Reporting to: Integrated Protection and Gender Coordinator and Area Manager

Basic Salay Range: 4,368 NIS - 6240 NIS- Depends of Candidate's years of Experience

WeWorld is an independent Italian organization that has been working in international cooperation and humanitarian aid for 50 years. Present in 27 countries with more than 120 projects, WeWorld operates in the following areas of assistance: humanitarian aid (prevention, emergency relief and rehabilitation), food security, access to water, health and hygiene, education, human rights (gender equality, prevention and combating violence against children and women, migration), global citizenship education, quality teaching and international volunteering. WeWorld works mostly with girls, boys, women and youth, actors of change in every community for a fairer and more inclusive world. WeWorld supports people overcoming emergencies and guarantees a life with dignity, opportunities, and a better future through human and economic development programs, in the framework of the 2030 Agenda.

Since 2020, WeWorld has rapidly expanded its operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, leading to a need for additional personnel to assist its current emergency operations, and to lead the future expansion in the development area.

Purpose of the Role:

Southern and Central West Bank (with frequent visits to communities in the Southern West Bank.

The primary scope of the Protection Officer’s responsibilities is to follow up on individual cases (IPA referral cases) in the most vulnerable communities and ensure high-quality implementation and consistency in applying WeWorld’s protection approach at the field level

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, particularly in designing questionnaires, planning, implementation, and ensuring high-quality reporting, based on technical feedback from Integrated Protection and Gender Coordinator, Project Managers, Area Manager, and Unit Heads.
Manage, disseminate, and ensure consistency in the implementation of WeWorld’s community protection approach across all targeted communities.
Develop community protection plans in collaboration with the community engagement team and project managers, ensuring timely delivery.
Implement the Community Protection Approach (CPA) steps in the field with the community engagement team, and prepare narrative protection analysis, Protection Response Plans (PRPs), and Community Profiles (CPs) through the CPA platform.
Draft incident reports related to Stop-Work and Demolition Orders in all communities targeted by WeWorld interventions and ensure timely submission to the Integrated Protection and Gender Coordinator, Area Manager, and donors according to internal procedures.
Organize and coordinate data collection methodologies and ensure linkage with the WeWorld database.
In collaboration with the Integrated Protection and Gender Coordinator and the Policy & Advocacy Department, prepare in-depth protection data analyses reflecting the impact of the coercive environment on communities and the changes observed after interventions.
Prepare factsheets for external/diplomatic/donor visits to targeted communities.
Support the Integrated Protection and Gender Coordinator issues into relevant sectoral group documents.
Contribute to the implementation of gender-related projects in the area.
Access and follow up on individual cases, coordinate referrals in collaboration with the Protection and Gender Mainstreaming Coordinator to ensure safe access to service providers according to the Individual Protection Approach (IPA) and operational standards.
Perform other relevant tasks as requested by the organization.
Administrative & Supportive Responsibilities:

Maintain organized filing of all activity-related documents.
Work closely with partners and communities at the field level.
Participate in planning and designing activities with the project team and partners.
Ensure effective communication with WeWorld team members and other staff through information sharing and discussion of relevant issues.
Assist in coordinating visits and meetings at the field level in coordination with other project teams.
Actively participate in periodic meetings and workshops as requested by the Integrated Protection and Gender Coordinator, Project Managers, Area Manager, and Sector Coordinators.
Ensure the completion of all logistical and administrative matters in accordance with WeWorld’s policies and procedures.
Reporting Responsibilities:

Monitor and ensure that individuals within the referral system in targeted communities access community services.
Submit timely reports on activities directly supervised or implemented through partners, following WeWorld’s procedures.
Plan and analyze collected data under the supervision of Integrated Protection and Gender Coordinator and in collaboration with the Information Manager.
Conduct continuous review of data entered and displayed on the organization’s electronic platform.
