Quality Assurance Expert for MVP Development

About GSG:
Gaza Sky Geeks (GSG) is Gaza’s first and only innovation hub and start-up accelerator, run by Mercy Corps (MC), a non-profit international relief and development organisation with programs in the occupied Palestinian territories since the 1980s. Mercy Corps founded GSG in partnership with Google.org in 2011 with an aim to transform Gaza’s most talented youth into the Middle East’s technology business leaders and to realise Gaza’s potential as a start-up hub. In addition to running tech ecosystems and outreach events, the GSG co-working hub, incubation and acceleration programs, beginning in 2017 GSG will be launching two new programming verticals under our brand.

QA Expert for MVP Development:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Expert will be responsible for testing, validating, and ensuring the functionality, usability, and reliability of MVP Development. This role will support GSG’s product development initiatives by identifying bugs, performance issues, and user experience gaps to help deliver a high-quality product that meets industry standards.

Objectives of the QA Work:

Ensure Product Functionality:
Test all features of the MVP to verify that they meet requirements, function as intended, and align with user needs.

Validate Usability and User Experience:
Assess workflows, navigation, and overall usability of the platform to ensure an intuitive and user-friendly experience.

Identify and Report Defects:
Detect bugs, inconsistencies, and performance issues in the MVP and provide clear, actionable documentation for the development team.

Support Development Improvements:
Collaborate with the product and development teams by providing insights and recommendations that improve the MVP’s stability, efficiency, and alignment with user needs.

Maintain QA Standards:
Ensure a consistent and transparent QA process by applying standardized testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience:
4–5 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance within software development.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Hands-on experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, or similar).
Experience in creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Scope of Work
The QA Expert is expected to provide QA services for a total of 40 hours over the three-month period, starting from September 20, 2025, and ending on December 31, 2025.

The tasks and responsibilities include:

Preparation and Planning:
Review MVP requirements, user stories, and technical documentation.
Develop and maintain QA test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

Testing Activities:
Conduct functional, regression, integration, and usability testing.
Execute manual and/or automated tests as required.
Simulate real-world scenarios to validate system behavior under different conditions.

Bug Tracking and Reporting:
Document all bugs, issues, and inconsistencies with detailed steps for reproduction.
Work closely with the development team to verify bug fixes and retest as needed.
Collaboration and Communication:

Participate in regular check-ins with the development team to align on priorities and testing results.
Provide feedback to improve workflows, user experience, and overall product quality.
Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain logs of all testing activities, including identified issues and resolutions.
Submit weekly progress updates and a final QA report summarizing findings, challenges, and recommendations.
Payment:

Payment will be made in a single installment upon completion of the service and submission of all required deliverables, including a timesheet, service completion report, QA activity log, and test documentation.

A 10% Tax will be deducted from the actual payment if a Valid Deduction at Source Certificate is not available.
