Action Against Hunger is recruiting for its Ramallah office a

Health & Nutrition Specialist

For a period of 12 months with possibility of extension

General Objective:

The overall responsibility of the Health and Nutrition Specialist is to pioneer and establish a health and nutrition program at the ACF West Bank offices, working closely with existing programs such as WASH and FSL to integrate health and nutrition components by establishing relationships with stakeholders in the nutrition and health sectors in the West Bank, Represent ACF in key humanitarian coordination meetings and workshops, and Monitor the quality of N&H activities implemented by ACF throughout the West Bank.
Key Activities:

 Objective 1. Program Development and Implementation

Tasks:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify N&H needs, gaps, and opportunities in the West Bank.

Design and implement small-scale health and nutrition activities within existing WASH and FSL programs.
Participate in the development of concept notes and proposals for health and nutrition interventions.
Objective 2:  External Coordination

Tasks:

Represent ACF in relevant health and nutrition cluster meetings and coordination forums.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local health authorities, UN agencies, and other NGOs within the West Bank.
Map existing health and nutrition actors and interventions in the area to identify potential partnerships and avoid duplication.
Objective 3: Technical Leadership

Tasks:

Provide technical guidance on health and nutrition integration across existing programs.
Develop evidence-based approaches and methodologies for health and nutrition interventions for advocacy and develop a response.
Ensure adherence to national and international standards and best practices in health and nutrition programming.
Objective 4: Capacity Development

Develop a capacity building plan for key N&H stakeholders and staff (both internal and external) based on capacity assessments and analysis of priority topics
Implement trainings on key N&H topics to various target audiences (clinicians, healthcare workers, non-N&H staff, etc.)
Objective 5: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning

Tasks:

Design and implement data collection tools and methodologies for health and nutrition indicators.
Analyze and document evidence-based information on health and nutrition needs and program impacts.
Produce regular reports and presentations on health and nutrition situational analysis and program progress.
متطلبات الوظيفة:
Profile of the Candidate:.

Familiarity with the local context, stakeholders, and dynamics in the West Bank.
Proficiency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
Background in nursing or medicine preferred.
Bachelor’s degree with experience is also accepted.
Demonstrated experience with programs in public health and nutrition, maternal and child health.
Previous experience establishing new programs.
Previous experience with infant and young child feeding, including breastfeeding counselling.
Previous experience providing training to health and nutrition personnel.
Minimum 5 years of experience in health and/or nutrition programming. Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical health or nutrition position is preferred.   
Knowledge of humanitarian or emergency programming.
Knowledge of relevant humanitarian and development policies, frameworks, and standards in the oPt context.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments.
Knowledge of the related national and international technical standards.
Knowledge of the Palestinian health system.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Experience in integrated programming (Health/Nutrition with WASH/FSL).
Project management qualifications or training.
Flexibility and willingness to travel in West Bank and stay overnight.
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

ILS 100131- 114784 gross/ year divided in 12 payments and based on experience. In addition, Action Against Hunger covers food and transportation allowances for a fully worked month.
