MSFF is looking for its project in Nablus for a Psychologist

Starting date                  : May 2025

Main purpose of the position

Providing psychological support to patients according to MSF principles, standards and procedures in order to improve the patients’ mental health.

Responsibilities
Main general duties:
Carrying out evaluation of mental health needs of patients and establishing a diagnosis and a plan of treatment.
Informing the patient and his/her relatives about the possible consequences of the illness and the drug treatment to follow and referring patients to other health professionals whenever necessary, in order to provide the most appropriate treatment and improve the patient's condition
Assist in implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to the medical team so that they receive the necessary treatment.
Providing psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, dyads, family, group) to patients according to MSF protocols in order to improve their mental health conditions
Assisting and training staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MH activities.
Working in close collaboration with translators in order to ensure appropriate terminology and behavior during sessions.
Collecting statistical and monitoring data about mental health activities
Informing the supervisor and the medical team about any issues or problems that may arise related to patients’ treatment in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective
Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential.

Specific accountabilities :

Conduct psychological assessments and psychotherapy treatment, for adults and children in Nablus, Qalqilya and Tubas Governorates and other locations upon request from management.
Work in close collaboration with the medical doctor/psychiatrist regarding the referral of patients for psychiatric assessment and the treatment plan for each patient.
Actively participate in interdisciplinary exchange (clinical meetings, case discussions).
Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of awareness and community-based psychoeducation activities in Nablus, Qalqilya and Tubas governorates.
Develop and deliver training sessions to mental health and non-mental health professionals, internally and externally, and participate in meetings upon request.
Monitor and report on own activity in the weekly statistics according to guidelines.
Actively contribute to operational research at project level.
Adhere to the MSF Code of Professional Conduct for MH professionals.
متطلبات الوظيفة:
Education:

Bachelor degree in Psychology and Master in Clinical Psychology

Experience:  
2 years of relative experience as Psychologist.

Experience with INGOs is an asset

Experience in the Palestinian context and regulations.

Languages:

Proficient level of English written and spoken.

Knowledge:

Reporting and data entry skills are required.

Other Requirements:

A valid license to practice as a qualified specialist certified by the Ministry of Health.

A valid membership of the union of Psychologists.
