Médecins Sans Frontières “Doctors Without Borders” is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to provide medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

Main Responsibilities of the position:

Patient Care:

Work directly with patients suffering from moderate to severe mental health problems and provide a good standard of practice and care.

Evaluate patients who are referred by Psychologists or Social Workers.

Conduct physical examinations; review medical history and related documents.

Provides adequate referral to specialized medical structures when needed.

Prescribes and monitor of psychotropic agents and review the treatment regularly.

Maintain Multidisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress.

Team work:

Actively participating in the weekly referral meeting.

Ensure quality and safe service for patients by enforcing MSF policies, procedures, standards, rules, and legal regulations.

Improve staff competence by providing training.

Reinforce the medical networking to allow rapid medical referrals.

Remain available for emergency consultations.

Reporting:

Maintain confidential records by documenting and writing reports.

Report detailed monthly medical activities and compile activity statistics.

Ensures that medical confidentiality is respected in all areas of his activity.

Pharmacy:

Ensure the security and physical organization of the pharmacy.

Make the quarterly inventory of the pharmacy.

Preparing the drug orders in an appropriate and timely manner.

Ensure all direct donations if necessary are recorded in the appropriate manner

Requirements:

Certified Psychiatrist or Medical Doctor with experience in mental health.

At least 2 years of experience as a Psychiatrist or Medical Doctor (with mental health experience).

Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team preferable.

Good knowledge of the local health network including the MOH and other actors.

Fluent both in conversation and writing/reading in English and Arabic.

Knowledge of Word, Excel and basic computer skills.

Ability to work under pressure and stress management capacity.

Calm, composed and diplomatic.

High stress tolerance.
Contract: part-time contract.

Location: Nablus

Probable start: February, 2018.
