Position Title  : Senior Backend Engineer

Department Technical

Location Palestine

JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Backend Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing robust backend systems.  The ideal candidate will utilize their deep expertise to guide and support junior engineers, address complex technical challenges, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
● Develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs. 
● Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic. 
● Optimize application performance and scalability. 
● Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. 
● Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. 
● Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues. 
Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and industry trends.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Work Interfaces
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic, and work with product managers and designers to align on project requirements. Engage with DevOps teams for deployment and system maintenance, and provide guidance and support to junior engineers. Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and stay current with industry trends and technologies.

Educational and Technical Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Language Skills

Strong bilingual communications skills in Arabic and English.

Years & Nature of Experience

Proven 5+ experience as a backend engineer.

● Strong proficiency in NodeJS/Java backend programming languages 
● Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
● Experience with RESTful API development.
● Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
● Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
