Position Details
Position: Environmentalist / Agricultural Engineer
Employer: Applied Research Institute - Jerusalem (ARIJ)
Location: ARIJ Headquarters, Bethlehem
Employment Type: Full-time
Duration: One year, renewed annually based on performance and availability of funding.
Reporting to: Sustainable Agriculture Program Director.
Responsibilities & Duties

The Environmentalist/Agricultural Engineer will contribute to ARIJ’s projects aimed at agricultural resilience, climate adaptation, and sustainable resource management through effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Field Implementation
Oversee field activities promoting climate-smart and resource-efficient practices.
Supervise data collection, analysis, and resolution of technical issues.
Coordinate closely with project staff and field teams.
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
Track project progress using ARIJ’s M&E frameworks.
Conduct assessments, focus groups, and analyze data.
Evaluate project impacts (e.g., water savings, yield improvements) and recommend adaptive strategies.
Reporting & Communication
Draft professional reports (monthly, quarterly, and final) in English.
Prepare case studies, success stories, and policy briefs.
Liaise with stakeholders (e.g., Ministry of Agriculture, cooperatives) to share findings and foster cooperation.
 
متطلبات الوظيفة:
Qualifications & Experience

Required:
Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s in Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, or any related fields.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in:
Field-based agricultural/environmental projects (e.g., climate-smart agriculture, resource management, Green Practices).
M&E frameworks and impact assessments.
Skills: Strong data analysis (Excel, SPSS); excellent reporting skills in English; fluent in Arabic.
Valid driving license.
Working Conditions

Frequent travel (50%+) to field locations.
