Founded in 1993, Médecins du Monde Switzerland is a medical association of international solidarity that is part of the Médecins du Monde network. We provide sustainable access to health care for people in vulnerable situations in Switzerland and around the world.

MdM Switzerland, has been working in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) since 1994 in the sector of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), implementing emergency and development interventions, focusing on victim of occupation-related violence, children and detention, suicide prevention and management, strengthen of access to mental health cares at national and community level, and advocacy initiative.

YOUR MISSION

To provide MHPSS support to vulnerable population according to MdM Switzerland’s procedures and the objectives of the different projects.
Specific objectives:

Support the implementation of the activities related to the promotion of MH considered in the different projects.
Conduct training, awareness sessions and capacity building for external stakeholders and partners
Prepare and conduct ToT for MdM staff, local partners and external stakeholders
Develop SoPs, materials and Report regarding trainings, awareness sessions and capacity buildings
Supervise the quality of the daily implementation of activities and provide technical support to staff
Closely collaborate with Project Officer in order to ensure timely implementation of activities
Support the MHPSS Advisor regarding the development of SoPs, procedures and tools that are implemented at mission level.
Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Mental Health Manager will contribute to the development of MdM-CH strategy in the country and will support the implementation, the quality and the consistence of the activities developed by MdM CH’s team and partners.

YOUR ACTIVITIES

Programming, management & development
Provide trainings and capacity building for external stakeholders and MdM staff
Support in the conduction of awareness sessions
In line with MdM standards and procedure develop SoPs and material for trainings, capacity building and awareness sessions
Supervise the quality of the activities conducted by MdM staff
Engage in field visit in order to supervise the quality of the activities conducted
In close collaboration with the Program Officer, ensure that activities are timely and efficiently implemented
Conduct community awareness sessions related to the promotion of the mental health and psychosocial well-being to partners, volunteers, and different groups of beneficiaries based on the individual needs and the activities included in the different active projects.
Keep and improve a referral system for MHPSS cases.
Develop and adapt specific didactic materials for technical topics and capacity building activities.
Participate in events, trainings, sessions, and meetings in collaboration with the project coordinator.
Support the program coordinator in the design of new projects.
Monitoring, reporting and evaluation
Provide on-time periodic reports according to MdM Switzerland and donor’s templates.
Collaborate in the preparation of the monthly plans.
Conduct assessment activities when needed.
Keep and improve the current data collection system according to MdM Switzerland and donor’s templates.
Support in the preparation of reports regarding each training, capacity building or awareness sessions developed
Reporting
Participate in the redaction of the project’s reports for the different donors in accordance with their guidelines.
Report to the Program Coordinator on a monthly basis.
Security
Participation in the security meetings and respect of the security rules set up according to the context.

YOUR PROFIL
Academic and Working Experience:
Master’s degree in psychology, Clinic psychology, Medicine.
Having excellent command of English.

5+ years of experience covering similar positions.

Honest, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
Pro-active and creative.
Other Requirements/Skills
Ability to work under pressure in an unstable and changing environment.
Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
Driver license is an asset.
Good skills in writing and designing proposals.
Good communication skills.
English proficiency.
Leadership, diplomatic and analytical skills.
Ability to work in team.

CONDITIONS

The position is based in Bethlehem,

Contract type: fixed term contract

Contract Duration: 8 months renewable, with 3 months’ probation period

Working Hours: Standard office working hours from Sunday to Thursday.
