Médecins Sans Frontieres (MSF – Doctors Without Borders) is an international humanitarian aid organization that assists in more than 70 countries with populations in distress, victims of natural or manmade disasters, and victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of religion, creed or political affiliation. To develop this work from Jenin, we are recruiting a:

Medical Assistant 

Main Purpose

Main duty: Supporting the Project Medical Referent (PMR), through delegated tasks and responsibilities including administrative tasks related to the medical activities and programs in the projects, according to MSF protocols. As well as assist the PMR in coordinating human and material related resources needed in order to ensure the quality of care provided by MSF.

Accountabilities 

- Assisting in safeguarding and promoting MSF’s image externally

- Assist the PMR in implementing and monitoring medical activities according to MSF project plans, standards, and protocols.

- Assist the PMR in developing policies and the annual plans

- Support the PMR in monitoring the medical program to ensure compliance with the MSF protocols

- Support the PMR in implementation and follow-up of health policy for locally hired staff.

- Together with the PMR, representing MSF for external medical actors.

- Negotiating on behalf of the PMR in close cooperation with the PMR and based on beforehand agreed messaging.

-  Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on key issues (epi data, medical context evolution) to the PMR and providing contextual information, through a sound knowledge of medical counterparts, parties, actors, and authorities, to improve understanding and decision-making processes and to maintain the medical database updated.

- Assisting in exploratory missions and assessments as needed

- Assisting the PMR in Internal and External Communication sessions and events about MSF (for National staff, the Ministry of Health staff, as well as local authorities, and community leaders) to improve awareness, understanding of MSF principles and services, and public opinion adhesion.

- Write meeting minutes and contribute to the meeting dashboard/map.

Job Requirements
Education
Essential, Medical degree/diploma
Experience
A good understanding of the health care system in Palestine and the relevant actors.
Desirable 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGOs.
Ability to work both in a team and independently as needed.
Desire experience in admin roles 
Languages                      

A very good command of English and Arabic is essential
