IT Officer

IT is responsible for supporting equipment (Microsoft / Linux environment) from design through implementation and Support, configuration and upgrading of workstations, servers, and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and standalone environment. IT Officer provides diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of system and network, hardware, software, and infrastructure.Responsibilities and dutiesinclude:

‐ Manage and monitor all installed systems and network infrastructure
‐ Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
‐ Maintaining a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)
‐ Monitor, manage & administer Microsoft\Linux Environments
‐ Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches,
‐ Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
‐ Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with the system developer in the group’s IT department to implement those fixes.
‐ Follow up systems health & performance checks
‐ Follow up Support & Maintenance Contracts
‐ Follow up systems & Application backup & recovery
‐ Troubleshoot and repair server hardware (RAID Arrays, SAN's, Tape Libraries, etc.)
‐ Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
‐ Provide 1st and 2nd level support
